Overview

Based in Craigavon, UK (near Belfast, Northern Ireland), Almac Sciences is a contract research organization for the pharmaceutical industry offering a broad array of services to support pharmaceutical developments from concept to product launch. Almac is a relatively new entrant in the field of biocatalysis, using biocatalysis to further expand the scope of its pharma services to include enzymatic process development. In 2007 Almac established an internal biocatalysis group and has launched a number of enzyme screening sets specifically for chemical synthesis. Aimed primarily at applications for the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates, Almac has quickly established its reputation for high quality and excellent service.
