Amano Enzyme Company
Amano Enzyme Company is based in Japan and has a long history as a specialty enzyme producer, with certain products formulated for use in biocatalysis. In 2003 Amano moved to a new facility in the Chicago, IL area. The warehouse is fully equipped and set up to handle shipments from a few grams to multi-ton container loads. According to the company, although the products are all manufactured in Japan at the moment, the warehouse allows for storage capabilities that keep lead times reasonable for all but the largest quantities.

Product Line
Amano has always specialized in hydrolytic enzymes. The company’s best known products for biocatalysis are the Lipase PS, which has been widely used for several decades and is available in various formulations including immobilized preparations, and microbial amino acylases from Aspergillus.
Amano’s lipases have been shown to be active in organic solvents for stereoselective acylation or transesterification reactions. Amano offers two amino acylases for the resolution of amino acids.
